The concept is simple, but in today's win-at-all-cost politics, some have abandoned their devotion to their country in favor of their party. Gerrymandered districts, frail election security, election laws that are designed to serve as a veiled poll tax and mass voter registration purges, are removing the power of the people from the electorate.
